1) I do not want to get big or strong, I just want to feel healthy: Wrong. Big people got there with very awkward way of training. You can get strong without getting grotesque outlook. Strength is a quality you have to strive to gain and should not shy away from because of your perception that strength means big muscles. The most outstanding weightlifters would pass by you in a public place totally unnoticed for muscular physique. If you think that strength means stiffness and would ruin your graceful mobility, this is a fallacy gained by watching strength and fitness media. If you think that gaining strength will waste your time and resources and get you where most bodybuilders go, underemployed, poor intellectual accomplishments, and not so impressing social prosperity, strength training when done scientifically can be very short and fun. Gaining strength would prevent you from becoming a statistics of joint injuries, depression, heart disease, and endocrine ailments. Acquiring strength is your ticket to walk on this planet and do best in what you are destined to do. |
