The Seated Press

The Press could be performed in many varieties.  From the front of the shoulders, from behind the shoulders, with different grips.  Notice, once again, the back is completely upright and kept away from the bench back-support.

Each has its own merits and must be included in a weekly plan without skipping the other varieties.

Something you should not do is to hold the bar with your thumbs situated laterally (to the outside of your middle line).  The grips have to be with the thumbs situated medially (to the inside between the two hands).  The youth who enjoy inventions of new grips end up in inflaming the joints which function in well recognized planes of motion.
